Curriculum
The curriculum follows the program set up by Hockey Canada Skills Academy. Please find the attached underneath a brief description of how the semester/year is set up and divided. Each academy is allowed autonomy from the basic structure and we, through our experience of the past 4 years, have units both on and off ice that further enhance the learning of our students/athletes.
Students in junior high spend approximately 60% of their time on ice and 40% off ice. High school students spend approximately 74% on ice and 25% off ice.
Purpose: The purpose of Sports Performance is to provide student-athletes an opportunity to learn wide range of knowledge, skills and attitudes in hockey. Training and developing of these skills takes place in a number of venues, on and off the ice. The course is designed and planned for hockey players of all levels. Its intent is to have each student being the best that they can be and excel as students and athletes.
